OPERNFEST 2026 – Berlin Opera Academy

The Berlin Opera Academy returns for the 11th edition of OPERNFEST, bringing nearly 300 emerging opera artists from more than 30 countries to Berlin for a month-long celebration of opera.

From August 25 to August 30, 2026, the festival presents three fully staged opera productions at Alte Münze with Humperdinck’s Hänsel und Gretel and Puccini’s Suor Angelica and Gianni Schicchi, offering audiences an intimate and immersive way to experience opera.

OPERNFEST is at the heart of the Berlin Opera Academy’s mission to connect professional training with public performance. Each summer, emerging singers, conductors, répétiteurs, collaborative pianists, directors, and orchestra musicians from around the world come together in Berlin for intensive coaching, rehearsals, and performances alongside an internationally renowned faculty.

OPERNFEST 2026 is an invitation to experience opera differently, up close, internationally, and with the next generation of performers at its centre.
